their full name, latitude, longitude, and a thorough description
of each site.
Select
landmarks were chosen from this list to create 3D models
and place them directly in World Wind.
This
Excel file, landmark catalog.xls,
will eventually be implemented XML to make additions to
World Wind easier and more accessable. |

Using Alias Studio Tools, Ratna built 3D models
of; The Alamo, Arc de Triomphe, Borobudur, CN Tower, Golden Gate
Bridge, Mausauleum, Pantheon, Petronas Towers, Roman Aquaducts,
Space Needles, St. Louis Arch, and the Washington Monument.
These
were convereted into the DirectX file format and imported directly

El Castillo Pyramid, Empire State Building, Taipei 101, Great
Pyramids of Giza, Leaning Tower of Pisa, Lighthouse of Alexandria,

programmed a joystick interface to World Wind to make navigation
simpiler and more intuitive. In addition, he implemented the placing
of the 3D models pictured above on the actual globe. This allows
people to see a landmark exactly where it is (or was) in history. |
